A system approach
Decorative offset brickwork is used in both traditional and modern building designs. The EWI Open State Cavity Barrier and Firestop System provides a straightforward package of compatible solutions for effective compartmentation around these complex elements. Suitable for both masonry inner leaf and SFS constructions, it combines standard full fill vertical and ‘open-state’ horizontal cavity barriers and firestops, whilst also diverting moisture away from the internal leaf with CT Cavity Tray.
The integral intumescent in the EWI Cavity Barrier and Firestop allows irregular cavity depths caused by decorative offset brickwork to be effectively protected, with no need to try and accurately notch standard cavity barriers onsite
We use the same unique formulation of A1-rated stone wool in all the products within the EWI Open State Cavity Barrier and Firestop System to ensure continuity of performance
The Masonry Open State Cavity Barrier System includes BB-FB Balcony Bracket Fireboard— a simple solution to a complex compartmentation detailing around the steel bracket connection for projecting balconies
Our systems offer a straightforward passive fire protection solution for external masonry walls— with all products and required ancillaries supplied in a single package that is simple to specify and install
